Your steering wheel got installed on the wrong side....

Nope, the right hand side is the right side. ;)

You have no idea how quickly you’d find me lining up outside a Škoda dealer if these ever came to America. Going to Europe is torture because these are everywhere.

I'm not following. Are you saying that the left side is not the right side, but the right side is the right side? Blasphemy!!!

Sorry fella. They are amazing. The first year I kept find out things it did, like the windscreen wipers, every fourth operation they settle in a different position at the base of the windscreen to reduce the wear on the wiper motors. Who thinks of these things?

When it concerns the location of the steering wheel, yes.

However if it is in regard to side of the road to travel on then the left side is the right side and the right side is the wrong side.

;)

The little details Škoda puts on their cars are amazing. On a recent trip to the Škoda Museum and Factory in the Czech Republic, I learned some things about the new Superb in the Customer Center:

- the new Superb has a handle on the trunk (boot) that you can pull to retract the tow hook (because it is hidden most of the time)

- the edge of the hood (bonnet) is perfectly aligned with the body line going down the side, giving the car a clean look

- Škoda had to scrap the two piece tailgate of the last Superb sedan (saloon) in order to align the hood, because otherwise the car would have been too expensive otherwise

Once again, the little details on this car are amazing.

I love the ‘clamshell’ bonnet.

The other little feature that made it stand out was the umbrella. Had one in the rear left hand door regardless of whether the car was LHD or RHD, but now it has two and they are located in each of the front doors.

Woah! That plate!

Where are you located?

It’s a detailing plate. I stick it over licence plates of cars cleaned so when I take pictures I can upload them straight away without having to edit the plate out (losing picture quality) before posting them. It's habit now.

I’m in the far north of England.

Oh, that’s cool. I should get one.

I asked you your location because I wondered which place issued plates like that. :)

Nice car btw!

A few years back they put a Skoda Superb up against it’s stable mates, an Audi A6 and a Bentley Continental. The Skoda won on comfort, legroom, ride, etc... Quite a thing for a car two thirds the price of the Audi and not even quarter the price of the Bentley.

Here’s that beautiful bonnet open.

The detailing plate is a screen name but a little bit of old (silver text on black with silver border) and a bit of new (the current font ‘Charles Grey’) in the text.

Available from eBay and some sites you can really customise them a lot.

The harder part is finding a method to attach them that’s right for you. The cheapest, quickest and tidiest way is dual suction cups but as I use them quite often I have some car dealership forecourt licence plate holders which just clip either end to the main plate.
